A couple of days ago, after making again one of my favourite recipes, this delicious apple pie, I had a few apples left. So I decided to test out the idea of making something similar in my mini cocotte. I just love to bake with them! As I didn’t have any extra pie dough, I bake a much more simple recipe this time. I just removed the apple top and core, and put inside some apple pie mix, this is cinnamon and nutmeg, and then added some ground ginger too. So I got this delicious cinnamon baked apples!
I absolutely loved how they turned out so I wanted to develop a blog post around it. I took my camera, several props, my favourite food photography backdrop and make some photos of this easy recipe. I hope you like it and enjoy it. After shooting, I baked a few more and had them as breakfast and dessert the next day!
Preheat the oven at 150ºC (300ºF) and lightly butter the mini cocottes. If you don’t use them and prefer a mould, just place some oven paper.
Now wash the apples, cut the tops off each apple. With an apple corer, take out the woody center and set an apple in each cocotte. Then, in a small bowl, mix the ginger, nutmeg, and cinnamon. Fill each apple with one tablespoon of this mix. Sprinkle ½ tbsp of the butter over each one, put their tops back and bake for 20-25 minutes.
