Today is World Nutella Day and I am sharing with you the recipe for this Nutella Sbrisolona, a typica treat from the North of Italy. I remember to see this a lot when I lived in Bologna, stuffed too with other ingredients such as jam or ricotta. But I am sure the little ones at home will prefer the Nutella or a homemade hazelnut butter option!
𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐑𝐄𝐃𝐈𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐒 (𝘮𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝟸𝟷 𝘤𝘮 / 𝟾 𝘪𝘯𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘴)
350 gr (2.5 cups) all-purpose flour
150 gr (2/3 cups) unsalted butter, at room temperature
130 gr (1 cup) granulated white sugar
1 egg
450 gr (1 and 1/2 cup) Nutella
50 gr (1/2 cup) walnuts
A pinch of salt
𝐌𝐄𝐓𝐇𝐎𝐃
In a bowl mix well the flour, butter, salt, sugar and egg. Transfer the dough to a clean surface, wrap with cling film and then allow to cool in the fridge for at least 2 hours.
Now knead the dough, transfer to the mould, and add the Nutella. Chop the walnuts and spread them over it. Bake at 190ºC (375ºF) for about 40 minutes.
I hope you enjoy this Nutella sbrisolona!
